These biscuits literally taste like Christmas. They are so festive and better yet, they are so easy to make. You simply need to add everything to one bowl and mix. This is a recipe that makes a thoughtful gift for family or friends when you are visiting over Christmas.
Ingredients:
120g Wholemeal Flour
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp Ginger
1/2 Tsp All Spice
55g Butter (or Coconut Oil)
2 Tbsp Mil
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1 Tbsp Treacle
Method:
1) Add all dry ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine.
2) Melt the butter or coconut oil and add to the dry mixture along with the milk, maple syrup and treacle.
3) Mix well.
4) Flatten mixture onto a sheet of baking paper and cover with a second sheet. Press down so it's 1/2inch or so.
5) Allow to cool in the fridge for up to an hour.
6) Cut out using a festive cookie cutter.
7) Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 12-15-minutes (depending on cookie size).
8) Once cooled, top with icing sugar.
