This is such a delicious treat and its a great seasonal recipe to make.
We love this as a dessert warm from the oven, with some freshly whipped cream. If you have leftovers, it will make for the perfect breakfast the next day with some Greek yogurt. The ingredients are really clean, so it's perfectly acceptable to have this for breakfast!
Ingredients:
2 Cooking Apples
2 Eating Apples
4 Tbsp Maple Syrup
2 Tsp Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
1/2 Tsp Cardamom
100g Wholemeal Flour
50g Oats
30g Chopped Almonds
100ml Coconut Oil
Method:
1) Peel and chop the apples into small bitesize chunks.
2) Add the apple to the baking dish with the maple syrup and spices. Mix well.
3) Combine the dry ingredients; flour, oats and almonds and add the melted coconut oil. Mix well.
4) Add the flour mix on top of the apple and press down gently.
5) Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees celsius for 45-minutes.
6) Enjoy with a dollop of freshly whipped cream or Greek yogurt.
