This is a really simple bread made using kefir which is hailed for it's gut health benefits. Unlike yeast, kefir’s natural fermentation process doesn’t just help the dough rise; it also breaks down gluten, making the bread easier to digest. We can't wait for you to try this recipe.
Ingredients:
200g Wholemeal Flour
200g Self-Raising Flour
1 Tsp Baking Soda
400ml Kefir
Method:
1) Combine the flour and baking soda.
2) Add the kefir and mix well.
3) Prove for 30 minutes.
(To prove, if it’s a warm day, leave in front of a window. Alternatively, heat your oven for 5-10 minutes and then turn it off. It should be slightly warmer than room temperature, but not too hot).
3) Bake for 55 minutes in your oven at 180°C.
Enjoy.
